Description
The new Armed Forces Reserve Center in Middletown, Connecticut is an outstanding example of the benefits Design-Build can bring to a project and the ability of a strong, cohesive team to successfully complete a complex and challenging project within a time-frame few people thought was possible. Located in Middletown, Connecticut, the new $54 million Reserve Center provides the Connecticut National Guard and Army Reserve with a state-of-the-art training center and support facilities. Designed and constructed in just 18 months, this 203,000 sf project included a massive sitework component that required the removal of more than 500,000 cubic yards of soils and construction of an 1880 lineal foot retaining wall. The project boasts the first green roof in the national Reserve Center building program, and is on track to achieve LEED Gold.
