The $11.7 million Charter Oak Health Center addition and renovation consisted of an existing five story building, which was renovated and expanded from 53,706 SF to a total of 63,420 SF. The interior renovation with new interior wall partitions and finishes created a modern, state of the art community health service facility that provides pleasant patient friendly areas for specific medical services. These include pediatrics, women’s health, adult medicine, radiology, mammography, bone density, a senior wellness center, optometry, laboratory and specialty care. A nutrition education center with a demonstration kitchen was added. The number of medical exam rooms and behavioral health therapy rooms were doubled, and dental operatories tripled. Currently, Charter Oak Health Center serves nearly 25,000 patients for medical, dental and behavioral health services, generating over 100,000 visits each year. At completion, this project enabled the Charter Oak Health Center to serve an additional 12,500 patients.
