Award Description

University Center
Lansing, MI

Project Description: The College challenged the design team to design a sustainable University Center to serve as a gateway for students seeking a 4-year education. The design rests on utilization of a simple form and scale to contrast the various expressions surrounding the site. The program allowed for the University Center to be connected to the Carnegie Library creating a marriage of architectural styles.

Jury Comment: The divergent language of the existing Carnegie Library and the addition create a marriage of styles establishing a new college gateway.
