Project Description: The adaptive reuse of a 40 year old former lumber warehouse into urban loft space preserves the building’s industrial character and introduces contemporary design elements, while providing homeowners privacy, space, and comfort—features that are not typically included in traditional lofts nearby.
Jury Comment: This project is a classic case of making a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. The beauty of the finished product relies on the simple use of materials; nothing over-done, nothing gratuitous.
