Jury Comment: This thoughtful design recognizes hidden potential with a few simple, elegant moves.

Project Description: After 40 years of neglect, the Church sought renovations which addressed the installation of a new pipe organ, poor ventilation, poor acoustics and very poor lighting. To define the liturgical elements, the chancel platform was enlarged and centralized between the aisles to support all the liturgical functions of the sanctuary. The entire Sanctuary was originally designed in the shape of a true Greek Cross plan. Along all four sides of the church, an acoustical wood paneled soffit was added, which houses mechanical ductwork and lighting.
