Design Program: An unoccupied "white box" area of the hospital was renovated to an ambulatory care unit. The renovation also required the addition of an air handling unit to serve that space and other future renovation projects. Nine new medical examination rooms were designed for this new ambulatory care unit.
Design Challenges: The renovation of the space into an Ambulatory Care Unit occurred within an occupied, operating hospital. Limited ceiling space required careful coordination between the architectural, mechanical and electrical systems.
