This award-winning historic mixed use development includes Off-Broadway Apartments (a 67-unit 227-bed student housing building), Clark Place (22 luxury residential units), 150,000 sf of office space including the corporate headquarters for American Seating Company, and a restaurant/bar. This project received the Governor’s Award for Historic Preservation and has helped revitalize the West Side of downtown Grand Rapids.

D.C. Byers Company/Grand Rapids, Inc.

Although American Seating continues manufacturing operations in this factory complex, it no longer uses Buildings 51, 52, and 53. Building 51 has been converted to apartments and the first two floors of Building 52 are the corporate headquarters of American Seating. The third and fourth floors of building 52 have also been converted to apartments. Building number 53 has been converted into the showroom for American Seating.

Kent Companies, Inc.

As American Seating started to consolidate their buildings, this turn of the century building was turned into apartments and office space.

Kent Companies installed 60,000 square feet of Acousti-Mat II and 1 ½” of Level-Right floor topping in the apartments for sound control.  Kent Companies also installed 50,000 square feet of ¾” Gypcrete 2000 to help flatten the old wood floors in the office area.
