Classic Engineering

Working with the Dan Vos Construction Design/Build team, Classic Engineering’s structural engineers helped to transform an existing building into a state of the art cooked meat facility. Tasks included the design of roof top mechanical equipment supports, tunnels, pits and other challenges that come with converting an existing building to a new use.

Architect/Designer: Dan Vos Architectural Team

The sanitary and sewer needs of the facility required removal and replacement of 75% of the concrete flooring. Due to a non-negotiable start-up date, this project was fast-tracked from day one.

The renovations incorporated the following into the facility: processing areas, refrigeration, freezing, packaging, shipping, locker rooms, rest rooms, human resources, break room, first-aid/nurse’s office, dry storage, sanitation room, laundry facilities, and USDA office/lab areas.

"Dan Vos Construction has a strong ethical background and I have a lot of confidence working with their organization." Mike DeVries, Michigan Turkey Producers

Exxel Engineering

EXXEL Engineering provided a topographical survey of the site. We did the civil engineering to establish site grades, design of public utilities and design of access drives and parking areas. We did construction staking.

Feyen Zylstra, LLC

The System Engineering group designed and installed an electrical system and process controls to accommodate new operations at the existing Michigan Turkey Producers facility. The project was fast-tracked with a tight schedule that required continual design modifications during the construction process. Facility engineering of the plant required incorporating and relocating the existing process machinery, while redistributing the associated power systems. The engineering of the process controls included the use of SCADA technology, which allows the client to maximize production and efficiency.

East Muskegon Roofing and Sheet Metal Co., Inc.
