Driesenga & Associates
Driesenga & Associates, Inc. was brought in as part of the project team to complete an ALTA survey, provide geotechnical engineering and soils testing, civil engineering design, construction staking, and construction materials testing. The geotechnical engineering and soils testing component was critical to ensure that the structural engineer was aware of the soil characteristics on site prior to designing the building to handle the loads required with the building expansion. Through the civil engineering design process, Driesenga & Associates, Inc. coordinated with the Ionia County Drain Commission and Road Commission to meet their standards and requirements, while coordinating with the Village of Lake Odessa to coordinate their facilities expansions and updates to the local roadway. Challenges included determining an outlet for the storm water detention basins and designing a site with minimum cover over the storm sewer system. Through construction staking and materials testing, Driesenga & Associates, Inc. provided the services necessary through the completion of construction in the fall of 2006.
