Description

The City of Wyoming had a referendum pass in 2005 which allowed Godfrey-Lee Public Schools to make some improvements to their facilities, including the Early Childhood Center, Vision Quest facility, Central Administration Facility, and the Athletic Complex. These improvements included a new facility, a building addition, and reconfiguration of parking and traffic circulation. Driesenga & Associates, Inc. was contracted to complete topographic survey, geotechnical engineering, soils investigation, civil engineering design, construction staking, and materials testing. Based on new legislation, we coordinated with the architect to obtain site plan approval through the City, while also seeking State approval for the improvements to the Godfrey-Lee Public Schools facility. Challenges included reviewing storm water flow patterns throughout the site to determine appropriate detention volumes, and reviewing as-built plans to located existing utilities on site.
