Jamieson Place was developed by Bentall acting on behalf of the owner, British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (bcIMC). The building is located in the heart of Calgary's downtown centre. Jamieson Place obtained LEED(r) Gold certification in July of 2009.
The complex consists of a 38-storey, 920,000 square foot commercial development, a five-level, 240,000 square foot underground parkade, and a three-storey podium. The lowest three levels contain retail space, a winter garden and public spaces. The structure is cast-in-place, reinforced concrete clad in curtainwall, granite and metal panels.
Jamieson Place has been built with several "green" features, including the installation of low flow fixtures to reduce indoor water consumption by 40%; high performace curtain wall with low-e windows, modulating boilers and chillers, variable speed pumps and a water-side economizer. The building will also run on 100% green power, including wind.
The building is connected to adjacent buildings via the +15 covered walkway network, is a short walk to the C-Train and dozens of bus routes, has secured indoor storage for over 170 bicycles, plus a fitness area with shower and change rooms.
Some of the mechanical and electrical base-building systems include: perimeter hydronic heating supplied from modulating boilers, cooling and ventilation supplied from a variable-air-volume system, high efficiency modulating chillers and cooling towers to provide cooling, waterside economizer, which preheats cold fresh air with return water from the chiller.
