Description

The Granger Center at Ferris State University houses the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVACR) and Construction Management Technology (CMT) programs. Beams, wiring, cable trays, and construction materials have been left exposed, facilitating use as an educational tool. Feyen Zylstra installed the electrical, communications, and energy management systems in the facility. Because of the aesthetic demands created by the exposed systems, it was necessary to coordinate very closely with the other trades, even creating collective CAD drawings. The degree of perfection required led to numerous design changes, making this an extremely challenging project.
