When SelectBank decided to restore an old bank building in downtown Grand Rapids, they hired Feyen Zylstra to design and install the electrical systems. Maintaining the architectural integrity of the building compelled the project team to install conduit above nearly inaccessible ceilings. This challenge led to a surprising number of unexpected changes, which were easily handled by the design/build team. In the lobby are four large light fixtures; Feyen Zylstra saved the owner nearly $80,000 by suggesting a different, but equally appropriate solution to the initial lighting choice. At completion of the project, SelectBank retained Feyen Zylstra’s service group for a maintenance contract.
