Description

This project received the 2007 Award for Excellence from the Associated Builders and Contractors of West Michigan for Pre-engineered Buildings Over $2 Million.

The Fennville Community Athletic Building is being shared by the community members and school athletic programs.  The 48,900 square foot facility includes a 3 station gymnasium, an elevated 4 lane running track around the perimeter of the gym, locker rooms and special use rooms for weight training, wrestling, aerobics and community functions.

A Pre-Engineered Metal building structure with CMU split face block base and metal siding on the upper level was used for the building envelope.  A space-saver insulation system was installed under the metal roofing which conceals the roof purlins and provides additional insulation to lower Fennville Public Schools operating costs. Additionally, wood flooring was installed in the Gymnasium to match basketball and volleyball practice facilities with the Districts competition gymnasium.
