Description
In May 2010, Kenowa Hills passed a $14.3 million bond that funded renovations to all of the district's schools. Some smaller upgrades were made in Summer 2010, but the major projects were completed in Summer 2011. Each day throughout the summer, $130,000 worth of construction was completed on average. Projects included:
New High School Athletic Stadium complete with grand entry, new restrooms and concessions, new ticket building, new team building, new drainage system, updated bleachers, new field events area and a massive concrete boulevard space overlooking the field.
Middle School renovations with all new windows, new whiteboards, new lighting, new comons rooms (learning spaces), new carpet in all corridors, media center improvements, updated ceilings and new paved parking.
Central Elementary renovations with new windows, new carpet, new whiteboards, media center renovations, restroom renovations, playground uprgrades, new casework in art rooms, new concrete walkways, new paved parking, updated bus loop and fire alarm replacement.
The additional 3 elementary schools received new whiteboards, new windows and upgraded fire alarms.
