Gerald R. Ford Middle School
Description
This project began with the demolition of the existing Madison Middle School in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The new Gerald R. Ford Middle School features 24 class rooms, a cafeteria, gymnasium, library and media center. The surrounding school grounds offer a soccer field, softball field, an outdoor pavilion, tennis courts, a basketball court and a water play park.
The new three story academic building is a high-performance middle school and has received LEED Certification. It also received the 2007 People's Choice Award from the Neighborhood Business Alliance (NBA) and Neighborhood Ventures.
