40,279 SF Remodel and expansion of Zion Lutheran Church including classrooms, offices, state licensed preschool, gathering and fellowship spaces and Sanctuary. Power, lighting and fire alarm design were provided. Special attention to Relighting of existing sanctuary to increase light level and reduce maintenance and energy cost. WPF Engineering was hired by Van Kempen Electric, for electrical and lighting design. This was a 16,000 SF addition to its present location to address the growth of the programs. Included in this addition was a 300-seat auditorium, beautiful lobby with a transparent façade to show the feature wall. Holophane’s decorative lighting was utilized in the lobby space. The roof of the former building is home to new photovoltaic panels, which supplement power to the previous construction. This project is LEED certified. Construction cost was approximately $2,500,000, and the project was completed in October 2007. WPF Engineering provided construction administration for lighting and power systems, working with electrical contractor and architects to complete design build electrical project. Amy Zeboor was the electrical engineer on the project while employed at Design Plus. Challenges on this project were high ceiling atrium spaces and design build budget. Amy provide an energy efficient building while working with architect to accent architecture. Provided lighting design, communications design and electrical engineering services. Project involved an addition of classroom spaces, kitchen, dining/gathering area, chapel, choir room and edit suite. Project also involved the renovation of the existing classroom spaces and converting the courtyard to preschool classrooms. Lighting systems were updated throughout to decrease maintenance, provide control and reduce energy costs. Data and telephone network were relocated and cabling throughout facility was updated. Ridge Point Community Church needed to expand into the shell auditorium they had built about four years ago. Project included the finishing out of the auditorium, A/V edit suites, restrooms, green room and other adjoining rooms. The electrical system was expanded to accomodate the buildout. House lighting and lighting for the ajoining spaces was designed by WPF Engineering. The existing lighting control system and fire alarm system was expanded upon. Project includes renovation of existing high school and new additions. New science classrooms and labs, art rooms, kitchen, serving, commons and main concourse. Renovations of the gym, locker rooms, classrooms and auditorium. A new power service was brought into the building undergoing a complete electrical system upgrade. New energy efficient lighting was provided throughout and an economical lighting control system was provided. Provided guidance of technology (communications cabling, clock system, paging system, classroom A/V systems and telephone additons) by wriiting RFPs in which several contractors were selected for the installation. Project included a complete face lift for the auditorium, lobby and restrooms. Worked with client and audio-visual and theatrical ighting consultants to provide a new lighting layout as well as new electrical systems throughout the auditorium and lobby. WPF Engineering provided costruction administration for electrical and lighting design. Amy Zeboor provided electrical and lighting design while at Design Plus Architects. This project renovated an existing building in downtown Chicago. Stringent Chicago electrical and energy codes were adherred to while providing an exciting and budget conscious lighting design. this factility had very low ceiling space and large concrete beams which required coordination of lighting and unique layout. This new 3 story, 137,000 square foot facility for Kent County will consolidate a number of different offices, including the Kent County Health Clinic, State of Michigan Department of Human Services, Child and Adult Protective Services, and ACSET (Community Action and Michigan Works). The project will be LEED Certified. Linear lighting in the large open office spaces was utilized along with round decorative fluorescent recessed fixtures and pendants in the lobby and corridors. Daylighting systems are utilized along the perimeter optimizing the use of sunlight in lieu of artificial lighting. A modular wiring system is installed throughout the 2nd and 3rd floors under the raised floor. This will allow for future furniture reconfigurations to be easily reconnected to the power system. A generator is provided for life safety and the computer room equipment. Exterior lighting including two parking lots exceeded ASHRAE 90.1-2004 by 70%.
